Casual Chess

Wenesday Evenings are when people get togther for casual chess and a bit of socializing.  There is no charge for Wenesday evenings.   Come down and meet some of the people in the club.   Learn about the club and the other activites we do.   This is a great way to get started with the Chess Club.    Doors open just after 7pm for several hours.

Alex will start free chess lectures at the club on Wednesdays, first one being on March 17th, and then every Wednesday thereafter. Time will be 7 pm in the skittles room. Approximate length will be 1 hr 15 min, followed by free play afterwards. Targeted audience are beginners to intermediate level players

Friday Night Game/30

Every Friday night we get togther to play some fast games. Usually games in 30 minutes. Regestration 6:30 to 7PM. Rounds start at 7,8,9PM. If more than 12 players show up, we play game/15 minutes to get a couple more rounds in. This is a club rated game

$5 entry fee, plus visitor fee for non members. Prizes based on number of players each night.

Internet Chess matches

We are getting setup to play Internet Chess Matches against other Clubs.     We are looking for a couple of PCs people are willing to donate to the club.  They need to run Windows XP and have the appropiate speed.

We will start with 4 ICC accounts so we can run 4 games at a time.   When we have a group of 4 players who want to play, we will work with other clubs to get a group of players at their site with comparable ratings.

Another possibility is someone can bring in their laptop to play on.   Currently we would need at least 2 laptops to set this up.
